Lead Plumbing Engineer (PE) – Healthcare & Mission Critical Facilities Competitive Base Salary + Bonus + Full Benefits A well-established & rapidly growing engineering organization in the local area is actively seeking to add a Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to the group. This individual will play a key role in leading the design and coordination of complex building systems while supporting project delivery from concept through construction. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a proven background in MEP consulting, capable of serving as a technical leader, mentoring junior staff, and acting as an Engineer of Record on projects. Key Responsibilities Lead plumbing and fire protection design across governmental, healthcare facilities (hospitals, outpatient clinics, inpatient & outpatient care centers, and critical facility focused projects). Produce drawings and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and firm standards. Perform engineering calculations, life cycle cost analysis, and equipment selection. Prepare construction documents, drawings, and project‑specific specifications. Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction inspections. Review RFIs, submittals, and support construction administration activities. Ensure designs meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders. Serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects. Mentor and support junior engineers and design staff. Participate in client meetings and present technical solutions. Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, ASHRAE, IBC. Support sustainable design initiatives and energy‑efficient system solutions. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Fire Protection, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. Eight (8) or more years of experience in MEP consulting engineering. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Strong understanding of plumbing and fire protection systems design. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Microsoft Office. Knowledge of ICC, NFPA and local codes and standards. HVAC and analysis tools such as Trane Trace 3D and TOPSS. High level of competency in computer‑aided design and modeling tools. LEED, Green Globes, or similar sustainability certifications preferred.
