We are a 5 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area. Job SummaryDRS Sustainment Systems is seeking a full time Principal Program Manager. This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule. This ideal candidate will manage and direct the daily execution of contract requirements to ensure that cost, schedules, and performance goals are met. Lead all meetings and the integrated product team (kick-off through project close). Provide interface, communication and coordination with internal and external customers on matters pertaining to existing contracts and bid and proposal activities. Responsibilities are conducted under the guidance of senior level management (Director of Programs, or LOB Lead). Job ResponsibilitiesManage and direct the daily execution of multiple programs within contract requirements to assure that cost, schedules and performance goals are metResponsible for leading the line of business (LOB) and/or Company (CO) program management function. This includes full life cycle management (development, production, and sustainment) of the LOB and/or COEnsure proper methods are followed to track program cost, schedules, and performance across LOB and/or COTrack all program cost, schedules, and performance against established program milestones, reporting the status to management stakeholders on a regular basisParticipate as a team member or IPT leader on bid and proposal activities. Ensure that the requirements of the request for proposal are met in the preparation and documentation of bids and proposals for existing customersActively seek new business opportunities in coordination with Business DevelopmentRepresent management at program reviews, meetings, seminars, etc.Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations. While representing Company’s interests, assure that all government regulatory guidance is adhered toAllocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel and purchased services. Regularly report program status to senior management Formally identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle. Obtains management approval prior to making decisions that will cause deterioration of established program, cost and schedule objectives.Ensure the overall execution of material on schedule and on budget for a business areaCollaborate on various tasks with various project teamsManage various tasks/team/project/Engineering changes Notify and seek senior management assistance in resolving schedule and budget problems as they arise. Develop and implement corrective action plans when deviations from budgets and/or schedules are evidentPerform variance analysis of schedule and cost on a formal and informal basis and present them to senior management (i.e. earned value management system)Job Responsibilities IIServe as the primary interface with the customer on all matters involving contract execution. Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fieldsDevelop and understand cash flow management principlesSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationDevelop and understand principles of process improvement (i.e. Lean Six Sigma)Knowledge of MRP/ERP with a solid understanding of electro-mechanical assembly operations, bills of material, demand material planning, and the supply chain purchasing processServe as the primary interface with the customer on all matters involving contract execution. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.The salary range for this position is $130,828/year- $176,618/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
