Admissions Representative / Eastern Pennsylvania / Southern New Jersey Department: EM Undergraduate Admissions Part/Full Time: Full Time Responsibilities Manages an assigned geographic territory in Eastern Pennsylvania / Southern New Jersey as part of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions’ nationwide recruitment program. Must live in the assigned territory and is responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge and oversight of that territory in order to identify and recruit prospective students, feeder schools, and potential growth markets. Utilizes high-level customer service, relationship-building, presentation, technological, and data analysis skills to recruit prospective students, report on the territory, and provide recruitment data to management to determine market priorities. Prepares and presents students, parents, and high school counselors with up-to-date information about the University of South Carolina student experience and advises them on admissions policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and familiarity with USC. Background experience in admissions, customer service, marketing, sales, public relations, or another student personnel area. Preference will be given to those who currently live in counties located in Philadelphia, PA or Camden, Gloucester, Burlington counties in New Jersey and have knowledge of the local secondary schools. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Relates well to people, has an engaging personality, and can speak confidently in front of groups. Exceptional customer service skills to ensure positive, brand-promoting interactions with prospective students/families, guidance counselors, and other constituents. Knowledge of secondary and postsecondary school systems desired. Ability to read and evaluate academic credentials as well as market data for assigned territory. Proficiency with personal computer usage. Ability to make public presentations to groups, counsel individuals, and maintain confidentiality of student credentials. Organizes special programs and travels to recruitment territory independently. Reliable transportation. Strong writing skills. Position requires extensive travel and seasonal overtime.
