Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Specialty Care Unit)

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week options available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult oncology patients on a mixed-acuity specialty care unit, including those receiving high-dose chemotherapy and complex medication and blood product administration (travelers do not administer chemotherapy)
• Manage care for up to five Med Surg patients; patient ratios are 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights
• Administer IV drips as required across all floors
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records (required)
• Float frequently within scope to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units, including potential float to an additional campus
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics/swoop, and LPNs (where assigned)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska RN state license required; pending license accepted, but candidates without license in hand will be booked six weeks out)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting; experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center required for first-time travelers
• EPIC charting experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted (exception considered with 2 years of Level I Academic Medical Center experience)
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Chemotherapy certification or experience preferred
• Experience in oncology, bone marrow/stem cell transplant, or mixed-acuity unit settings
