Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) position in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves providing patient-centered care on a unit specializing in post-operative cancer interventions such as prostatectomy and mastectomy. The RN will work day shifts, perform accurate documentation, and ensure timely care delivery within a 32-bed unit operating on a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts, 06:30 AM to 07:00 PM, with weekend requirements every third weekend (Fridays and Saturdays).
• Required Qualifications: Valid drivers license; BLS certification through the American Heart Association; minimum of one year of experience in a medical-surgical or orthopedics unit with good communication skills, accurate documentation, and patient-centered care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-operative cancer interventions such as prostatectomy or mastectomy; experience reading strips on monitor techs; familiarity with EPIC charting system.
• Float: Rare, only if needed to other medical-surgical units.
• Additional Information: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; candidates must be within 50 miles of the facility and not be employed part-time or PRN with associated facilities.
• Notes: No telemonitoring; RN may titrate drips such as heparin, lidocaine, TPN; units are equipped with vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc. Shifts may be canceled up to 4 times in a 13-week assignment.
