Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

• 2 years of strong Cardiac/Tele experience.
• 1 travel assignment required.
• Recent Epic experience required.

Required Credentials:

• Associate Degree or Certificate.

Unit Details:

• High acuity Tele/Med-Surg, cardiac-heavy population including Afib with RVR, Afib, flutter, blocks, heart cath without interventions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post ablations, and dialysis.
• Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation; initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amio, etc.); PIV insertion; chest tube/indwelling drain management; CBI; stable drips (Heparin, Lasix, Protonix); antidysrhythmic management (Cardizem, Tikosyn dosing, amio); nephrostomy tubes.
• Ratio: Days 1:4-5; NOCs 1:5-7; charge nurse rarely takes patients on days, but takes an assignment on NOC shift.
• May require precepting students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Flexible contract hours: 48 per week upon request.
• Three weekends out of every six week schedule.
• Every other holiday.
• Orientation week hours are not set. Weekly hours may vary during holidays when the unit is closed.

Floating Requirements:

• First to float within skillset. Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) and potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. xhyhwjd Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
