This 283-bed hospital serves Eastern Kentucky and operates as a Level 4 trauma center with established orthopedic surgical capabilities across inpatient, clinic, and operating room settings. The facility maintains modern surgical equipment, experienced support staff, and clinical protocols to support emergency and inpatient orthopedic care delivery. A credentialing process of 30 to 45 days is required for incoming locum tenens clinicians.

Kentucky offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of regional attractions suited to varied interests. The state is recognized for its bourbon heritage, horse culture, and live music scene, providing cultural and recreational experiences throughout the region. Natural wonders including caverns and caves, specialty museums, and notable landmarks are accessible across the state, offering diverse options for exploration during time away from assignment.

Clinicians will provide comprehensive 24-hour call coverage managing inpatient and emergency department consultations at this Level 4 trauma center in Kentucky, with monthly assignments covering the 15th through the end of each month beginning August 2026. Clinic responsibilities are scheduled from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, followed by surgical call coverage from 4:30 PM to 8:00 AM. Core orthopedic surgical procedures include joint replacements for hips, knees, and shoulders, as well as hand and foot fracture repairs, with potential pediatric cases in the clinic setting. The position requires managing 1-3 calls per 24-hour period, and EPIC EMR is utilized for clinical documentation at this facility.
