Job Description
The Surgical Scheduler / Receptionist coordinates scheduling for mixed surgical services while supporting patients, surgeons, clinical staff, insurance and authorization teams, and primary care and referral offices. This role manages front desk operations, appointment workflows, and a dedicated process for urgent surgical requests, with opportunities to advance into more complex scheduling responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Schedule surgical procedures across mixed surgical services.
- Register patients and coordinate appointments.
- Verify insurance information and process referrals.
- Support preauthorization workflows with insurance and authorization teams.
- Provide welcoming front desk reception and clear patient communication.
- Coordinate scheduling details with surgeons and clinical staff.
- Manage calendars and maintain accurate scheduling data.
- Follow the dedicated urgent scheduling process for time-sensitive surgical requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in healthcare scheduling and reception.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
