About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified SICU RN in New Orleans, Louisiana, 70121!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Current and active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in high acuity ICU Experience with transplant recovery (liver, heart, lungs, kidney, pancreas) Ability to float to other ICUs and step-down units Epic experience Description: The role involves caring for post-operative surgical patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgeries and transplants. The patient ratio is 1:2. Staff will be expected to assist on the Emergency Team when necessary. Candidates should be adaptable to a high-stress environment and have experience managing complex patient needs. Strong communication and interdisciplinary cooperation skills are essential. Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy and various ICU equipment is required. A background in managing critical care patients including those with multi-system organ dysfunction is preferred. This position is not suitable for anyone seeking block scheduling. Applicants should also be comfortable with medical emergencies and have the necessary certifications updated.
