Travel RN - Emergency Dept

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring Level I Trauma experience and current IL RN licensure. Requirements Active IL RN license required, in hand Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS TNCC and CPI certifications preferred Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred Prior experience in an urban, Level I Trauma ED required Teaching hospital experience preferred Epic charting experience preferred Skilled in trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and shock/trauma management Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and violent behavior Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation Responsibilities Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients 1:4 patient ratio Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:30) Every other weekend required Floating required Uses Epic charting system, experience preferred No block scheduling accommodations Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including respiratory infections, seizures, sickle cell crisis, and spinal cord injuries Manage neurological emergencies such as CVA, traumatic brain injury, and ICP monitoring Administer emergency medications including IV vasopressors and procedural sedation Apply and manage splints for orthopedic trauma cases Maximum RTO of 7 days, with no more than 3 days off and no RTO during the first or last week of contract First-time travelers accepted Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate Former UChicago Medicine or Ingalls staff must have a 7-month break in service before returning as a traveler Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-761366 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler, LLC.
