Equipment Operator, Lake Charles Refinery

Location: Westlake, LA, US, 70669 Job Field: Maintenance Phillips 66 & YOU - Together we can fuel the future What to Expect As an Equipment Operator, you will work in the maintenance department of the Lake Charles Refinery. The positions are straight day jobs, subject to occasional shift work, turnarounds, call outs and mandatory overtime. You will run heavy equipment within the refinery and from time to time on public roadways. Equipment includes mobile cranes up to 120-ton capacity, backhoes, front end loaders, road graders, forklifts, cherry pickers, and trucks. This work takes place in all areas of the refinery, outside exposed to the weather elements and to blowing air, heat, noise, and vibration. The refinery processes involve hazardous and volatile materials under high temperatures and pressures.

What You'll Do Safely operate various heavy equipment in support of maintenance work and construction projects Utilize load charts to determine safe lifting parameters for crane lifts Perform/confirm safe rigging for lifts Infrequently make critical deliveries via intercity, over-the-road trucks Perform routine maintenance and inspection on vehicles and equipment Coordinate work of others as needed

What You'll Bring Required Legally authorized to work in the job posting country 18 years of age or older High school degree or GED equivalent Valid driver's license 5 or more years of experience as a journeyman level equipment operator in an oil refinery or a chemical process or similar facility Recognized certification in mobile crane operation Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). What Makes You Stand Out Completion of a recognized apprenticeship, military, vocational or technical school program in heavy equipment operation Valid Drivers License with a Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within first 180 days of employment

Compensation This position has a base hourly pay of $49.90 .
