About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented attorney to join our team as Municipal Counsel & Litigation Attorney . This position offers the opportunity to work closely with local governments, planning boards, as well as litigation cases, offering attorneys an opportunity to actively litigate in Court.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to municipalities, boards, and commissions on governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.
• Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other municipal documents.
• Stay current on state and local laws impacting municipal governance and land use.
• Draft complaints, answers, counterclaims, and amended pleadings.
• Prepare and argue motions.
• Draft and respond to Discovery.
• Review and produce documents.
• Manage e-discovery and document review.
• Conduct legal and factual investigations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in New Jersey
• 2–7 years of experience in municipal law, litigation, or related practice areas.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and public presentations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Open Public Meetings Act, Open Public Records Act, and related statutes.
