Certified Veterinary Technician Shift Lead Location: Davie-Pine Island. Pay: $23.43–$33.84 per hour. Job Purpose Banfield invites a certified veterinary technician to lead a shift, ensuring high‑quality client care and supporting the veterinary team. Responsibilities Recruit new clients and promote services. Route and coordinate client and patient flow. Provide professional customer service, educate clients, prepare procedures, and monitor hospitalized pets. Under veterinarian supervision, perform veterinary technician appointments. Complete client documentation and pet information entry. Assist outgoing clients with instructions, invoices, prescriptions, retail sales, and scheduling. Manage finances, maintain balances and handle opening/closing procedures. Support veterinarian productivity and communicate with associates. Obtain client history and maintain accurate medical charts. Ensure safety and cleanliness of work areas. Assist with surgery as required. Train and mentor new associates. Perform quality checks on records, medications, and hospital cleanliness. Apply technical skills within state practice acts and execute administrative functions. Leadership Responsibilities Assist Practice Manager in developing an efficient, productive team and achieving practice priorities. Support labor management and supervise paraprofessionals. Communicate between associates, clients, leadership, and central support. Ensure compliance with dress and grooming guidelines. Prepare team for daily cases and assist case transfers. Identify bottlenecks and propose solutions for medical operations. Assist in client resolution decisions and invoice adjustments. Address equipment issues and inventory management. Requirements Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT). Strong communication skills, teamwork, and commitment to client and pet care. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program.
