Job Description:
Equipment Calibration & Technical Operations

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and running packaging machinery to keep production moving efficiently and up to standard. Technical duties include adjusting scale programs (vibration, feeders, and buckets) for smooth product flow, changing film rolls with lift carts, swapping out formers, and managing seasoner levels to maintain accurate application rates. Crucially, operators perform and log mandatory metal detector checks under the facility's HACCP food safety program to guarantee product integrity before shipping.

Quality Control, Packing & Plant Sanitation

Beyond machine setup, operators inspect finished goods coming from the fry room, hand-pack bags into assembled boxes, apply labels, and verify that date codes, prices, package weights, and bag seals are accurate. The role demands active involvement in product rework, precise data logging, and prompt communication with maintenance or management regarding equipment malfunctions. Operators also support facility hygiene by clearing waste, sanitizing machines, conveyors, hoppers, walls, and floors, and operating material handling equipment (like forklifts, pallet jacks, and stretch wrappers) as trained.

Shift Requirements & Working Conditions

Working 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, wet, oily, and high-noise environment, operators must continuously shout over loud ambient machinery noise. The role involves continuous proximity to moving parts, frequent exposure to dairy allergens in seasoning, and occasional seasonal temperature extremes (above 100°F or below 32°F). Physically, the job requires continuous standing, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling, paired with frequent walking, stooping, climbing 15 stairs, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, alongside strong teamwork to cover shift breaks and lunches.

Shirt Requirements: Must wear a Logo-free and Button-free t-shirt. Shorts Policy: If shorts are worn, they must be no shorter than 2 inches from the top of the knee. Footwear: Must wear closed shoes (no sandals, open-back, or open-toe shoes). All footwear must be slip- resistant. Garment Condition: Clothing must be free of holes, tears, or loose threads. Garments must not be fuzzy or loose-fitting. Protective Wear: Hairnets and moustache/beard shields (if applicable) must be worn at all times in production areas. 2. PERSONAL GROOMING & JEWELRY Jewelry Prohibitions: No body piercings, watches, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, wrist/hair ties worn as bracelets, or brooches. Jewelry Exceptions: Plain band rings and medical alerts are the only permitted items. Rings with stones are strictly prohibited. Hands & Nails: No fingernail polish, false fingernails, or acrylics are permitted in production or warehouse areas.
