ABOUT THE ROLE The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and executing advanced accounting functions, such as financial statement analysis, month-end and year-end closings, financial audit, SOX compliance, and leading process improvement initiatives. This role provides guidance to junior members of the accounting team. WHAT YOU'LL DO Independently and confidently prepares and reviews a variety of financial transactions for completeness, accuracy, and conformity with accounting policies, GAAP, IFRS, company procedures, and any other applicable regulatory standards within a complex organizational/partnership structure. Primarily review journal entries but will occasionally prepare journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations and other month-end close activities. Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities. Review and confirm consolidated financial statements for investors, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies. Inspect complex contracts for accounting requirements and ensure accounting entries and reports agree with applicable contracts, while recommending solutions for discrepancies. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent years of experience. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant. Industry knowledge or public accounting experience preferred. Licensure/Certification: Certified Public Accountant. Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines. Skills/Attributes: Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze complex data and situations to make decisions. Exceptional organizational skills and time management. Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines and projects.
