Social Media Manager — Vanity Hair Studio NYC Full-time · On-site on Long Island/ Hybrid]·$25-$40 per hour About us Vanity Hair Studio NYC is a full-service salon that cares as much about the business of beauty as the beauty itself. Our TikTok series, The Business of Beauty , teaches stylists and clients how the industry really works, from booth rent to non-competes. We're looking for someone to help us grow it. What you'll do Plan, film, and edit short-form content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, including our daily Business of Beauty episodes. Capture salon work (transformations, behind-the-chair moments, team spotlights) only with written client consent , following our recording policy Write captions, hooks, and hashtags in our voice: honest, educational, and a little bold. Keep a content calendar and post consistently. Respond to comments and DMs professionally, and flag complaints, booking issues, or anything sensitive to the owner. Monitor and respond to reviews on Google and Yelp, with owner approval Track what's working (views, follows, saves, bookings from social) and share a simple monthly report. Spot trends and suggest new episode ideas What you bring 1+ years managing social media for a business, ideally beauty, wellness, or local retail. Intermediate video skills: filming on a phone, editing in CapCut or similar, and a sense for pacing and hooks. Clear writing and good judgment about what shouldn't be posted. Reliability, discretion, and comfort in a busy salon. Nice to have Experience with Canva, Meta Business Suite, or scheduling tools. Knowledge of the hair industry or the NYC beauty scene. Basic graphic design skills. One day a week on-site for filming, plus flexible remote hours for editing and posting.
