Collections Specialist

Schedule: Remote Monday & Friday | In Office Tuesday–Thursday Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 (Exceptional candidates up to $75,000) Position Summary Seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to manage the collections process while supporting a variety of Accounts Receivable functions. This role is approximately 50% collections and 50% AR support , offering the opportunity to work across multiple aspects of the AR cycle. The position partners closely with Accounting, Sales, Project Management, and leadership to ensure timely collections and accurate customer account management. Key Responsibilities Collections Manage the collections process from start to finish. Review AR aging reports and proactively follow up on past-due accounts. Maintain detailed collection notes and Excel tracking reports. Provide updates on collection activity to leadership. Build and maintain professional relationships with customers to resolve outstanding balances. Accounts Receivable Support billing activities. Set up new customer accounts. Resolve customer account inquiries. Assist with account reconciliations. Support various Accounts Receivable functions as needed. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate billing and collections. Preferred Construction Accounting Experience Experience with the following is highly preferred: Retainage Notice of Lien and lien notice processes Construction contracts Project-based billing Qualifications 3+ years of Accounts Receivable and collections experience. Construction or project-based accounting experience preferred. Knowledge of retainage and lien notice processes. Experience using ERP systems (Acumatica experience is a plus). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
