Overview:

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for 2 South- Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit. This is a Full Time Night Shift position in Suffolk, VA.

Sign on Bonus up to $20,000 available for qualified candidates!

Hours: 7PM to 7AM with rotating weekend schedule.

The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. 2 South also cares for pre/post catheterization, acute stroke, and post procedural neuro cases. This 25-bed unit sees a ratio of 1:6 with assistance of Patient Care Techs. The unit cares for patients with acuity higher than a typical medical-surgical unit. 2 South Acute Cardiac is also preparing for a transition to a Cardiac PCU step-down before year's end, making it an exciting opportunity for nurses seeking growth in a dynamic, high-acuity setting. Registered Nurse Transition to Practice Programs at Sentara:

Unique 6-Month Program Includes:

• No separate application required, automatic enrollment for any RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area.

Education:

• Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Students in process of completing an accredited nursing program.

Certification/Licensure:

• Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
• NIH within 1 year of hire

Experience:

• Acute care nursing experience preferred
• Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred
• None Required
