Animal Technician
$18 - $19 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks an Animal Technician in Madison, Wisconsin to provide daily care, monitoring, and sanitation for laboratory animals in a research facility. The role involves husbandry tasks, equipment operation, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards on a rotating schedule including weekends.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for laboratory animals including feeding, watering, and health observation
- Change cages and bedding; clean and sanitize animal rooms, equipment, and facilities
- Operate automated cleaning equipment such as cage washers and tunnel washers
- Monitor animals for illness, injury, or distress and report concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of husbandry, cleaning, and sanitation activities
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Comfort with strict sanitation and animal care protocols
- 6 months related animal care experience or relevant certifications (preferred)
- Demonstrated consistent and reliable work history (preferred)
Compensation: $18/hr.–$19/hr. plus 5% shift differential
