Role Description The Store Manager in Training role is a full‑time, on‑site position located in Montgomery, Al. This role involves learning and supporting daily store operations, including assisting with opening and closing procedures, managing inventory, and maintaining visual merchandising standards. The Store Manager in Training will work closely with leadership to oversee team member performance, coach staff on customer service best practices, and help achieve sales and profitability goals. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include engaging Guests on the sales floor, recommending products suited to a variety of outdoor activities, resolving customer concerns, and helping ensure a welcoming, organized, and safe store environment. The role also includes learning retail loss prevention processes, participating in training programs, and preparing to assume greater management responsibilities as skills and experience grow. Qualifications Strong customer‑facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a commitment to creating positive Guest experiences. Effective Communication abilities, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening in a fast‑paced retail environment. Foundational Store Management skills or potential to develop them, such as team support, basic scheduling, and overseeing daily operations. Awareness of Retail Loss Prevention practices, with an understanding of how to minimize shrink while maintaining excellent service. Prior retail or outdoor industry experience preferred; enthusiasm for outdoor activities and related gear is highly beneficial. Ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise, and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and problem‑solving skills, with a willingness to learn and grow into a leadership role.
