Store Manager

Position Summary Reporting to the District Manager (DM), the Store Manager leads day‑to‑day operations of a single store to achieve all sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth and development to maximize store results. Through personal selling, leadership, and coaching, the SM champions a People First store environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, life‑time customer relationships, and a best‑in‑class customer experience. Store Leadership & Operations Leads and develops high‑performing teams by setting clear expectations, coaching for results, and ensuring consistent execution of brand standards. Drives sales performance through strategic planning, data analysis, customer engagement, and operational excellence. Creates a customer‑focused culture that delivers exceptional experiences, resolves issues effectively, and builds lasting relationships. Recruits, develops, and retains talent while fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment. Performance Excellence Responds promptly and accurately to all management directives, requests for merchandise transfers, inventories, and information. Maintains store neatness and cleanliness, representing the banner. Ensures compliance with company policies and practices. Achieves outstanding sales performance and increases profit margins by controlling discounting, expenses, payroll, and repair departments. Works a schedule based on the right time to effectively run the business including a combination of opening and closing shifts, weekday and weekend coverage, and time to coach, train, and develop the team. Performs additional duties and projects as assigned. Maintains consistent, regular scheduled attendance. Work Schedule During non‑peak periods, managers should aim for a five‑day, 40‑hour work week. Schedule based on opening and closing shifts throughout the week, considering operating hours, sales requirements, customer traffic, and time to coach, train, and develop the team. Hours increase during peak selling periods. Position Qualifications Education: Minimum of 2 years of college preferred. Experience: At least 3 years of retail sales experience, OR 2 years of retail sales experience plus a minimum of 1 year of retail management experience. Preference given to candidates with specialty retail or jewelry experience. Preference given to candidates who are Diamond Council of America (DCA) certified. Advanced communication skillset, both written and verbal. Proficient with computers, with advanced proficiency in MS Office and other related business, technology, and communication tools. Strong interpersonal skills to build effective employee and customer relationships. Advanced presentation skills to provide effective team member training and excellent customer presentations. Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑management skills. Ability to present themselves professionally via email, social media, video conference, telephone, and text. Ability to plan and organize tasks to meet deadlines and expectations. Ability to work independently without immediate supervision. Ability to set priorities, develop plans to meet goals, and delegate for team success. Ability to understand and thoroughly explain detailed information. Reliable and dependable. Language Skills Bilingual skills are a plus. Physical Demands Regularly required to communicate with and comprehend others; stand, reach with hands and arms, move between display cases, sit, stoop, bend, kneel or crouch as needed. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Requires visual acuity sufficient to discern differences in gemstone quality. Standard week includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours. Travel to training sessions and business meetings, including air travel and overnight travel, may be required.
