Medical Assistant Primary Care

Job Description Job Description We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Primary Care Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will support providers in delivering high-quality patient care by performing both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced primary care setting. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, professional, and committed to maintaining excellent standards of care. Key Responsibilities * Prepare patients for examinations and procedures. * Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints. * Assist providers during patient examinations and treatments. * Administer injections, vaccinations, and medications as directed. * Perform basic laboratory procedures, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing. * Conduct EKGs and other diagnostic tests as required. * Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care. * Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment. * Verify patient information and update electronic medical records - ATHENA * Process prescription refill requests according to office protocols. * Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Required * High school diploma or equivalent. * Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. * Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures. * Proficiency with electronic medical record systems. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred * Minimum 3 years of experience in a primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine setting. * Experience with vaccine administration and phlebotomy. * Bilingual skills are a plus.
