This role requires strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with all internal and external food safety standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPractice, teach and enforce the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) established for QualityPractice and enforce all Safety policies and proceduresReview production records for compliance with quality standardsPut together COA’s together following customer requirementsRead APC and rapid yeast and mold plates, update Micro Spreadsheet, and report out of spec results to Quality ManagerAssist Techs with micro-plating and product testing when neededManage customer sample requests (collection, shipping, and updating tracker)Manage lab supplies and inventory (complete weekly inventory and create/submit purchase order request)Take environmental monitoring swabs, ship to 3rd party lab, and update EMP trackerAssist in internal and external audits and documentationAssist in customer complaint investigations and documentationCoordinate rework projects with the production team and ensure necessary documentation is completedAssist with non-compliant quality and food safety investigations and ensure necessary documentation is completedMonitor Calibration Log for compliance and help schedule servicesComply with all company policies, practices, and proceduresSupport team member safety by promoting safe work practices, monitoring compliance with policies, and minimizing physical hazards to promote an overall safe work environmentParticipate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goalsProvide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skillLearn, and adhere to, all established Safety policies & procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPsLearn, and adhere to, all Quality policies and procedures including Safe Quality Food (SQF), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Quality Points (HACQP).Perform other duties as assignedEducation and SkillsHigh school diploma or GED required; 2+ years of work experience preferred, ideally in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to ensure understanding of written procedures, safety instructions, technical documentation, and verbal communicationsBasic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and use of weights and measures. Must be comfortable using a calculatorFamiliarity with basic computer systems and control interfacesBasic understanding of food production and food safety principles is a plusTeam-oriented attitude; respectful, approachable, honest, dependable, and adaptable to changeCapable of resolving conflicts professionallyAble to prioritize tasks and remain productive under shifting demandsFollows both written and verbal instructions accuratelyHighly motivated, reliable, and hands-on with a strong problem-solving mindsetAble to identify and address inconsistencies or quality issues with accuracy and precisionPhysical DemandsAbility to work beyond regularly scheduled hours during peak periods or critical operationsMust possess adequate vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills to meet essential job performance and safety standards.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and using hands for detailed tasksPhysically capable of performing tasks such as lifting, climbing, and using hand and power tools, including pallet jacks, scales, ladders, and standard material handling and cleaning equipmentCapable of safely lifting up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the day; ability to handle heavier items with proper lifting equipment or team-assisted techniques to ensure safetyWork EnvironmentEmployees must be able to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment that may include exposure to odors, dust, moderate noise levels, and fluctuations in temperature and ventilation. Work environment may involve exposure to inclement weather.
