Hospice Medical DirectorAkron, OH | ContractA hospice program serving the Akron, OH area is seeking a Hospice Medical Director to provide medical leadership and physician oversight. This is a contract position.ScheduleContract position. Specific expectations regarding availability, patient volume, interdisciplinary meetings, and physician coverage will be discussed during the interview process.Compensation$100,000 to $200,000 annually.What You'll DoThe Medical Director assumes responsibility for the medical component of the hospice program, serving as a clinical resource to the interdisciplinary team and supporting appropriate hospice eligibility and certification decisions. This role helps ensure continuity and quality of physician services across the program.The Medical Director advises clinicians, educates community physicians, supports eligibility decisions, participates in interdisciplinary care, and represents the hospice program professionally within the medical community.Required QualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)Active, unrestricted Ohio physician licenseCurrent state and federal controlled substance registrations, including DEA registrationHospice or palliative care experience, or substantive training in end of life careKnowledge of Medicare hospice eligibility, certification, recertification, and Conditions of ParticipationAbility to collaborate effectively with attending physicians and interdisciplinary hospice teamsEligible to participate in Medicare and not excluded from any federal healthcare programStrong communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skillsPreferred QualificationsBoard certification or significant experience in hospice and palliative medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine, family medicine, oncology, or a related specialtyCommitment to continued medical education in hospice and palliative medicineCompensation and Benefits$100,000 to $200,000 annuallyContract engagement structure, with availability and coverage details discussed during the interview processTo apply, please submit your resume for consideration.
