Job Description Summary The Manager, Trade Analytics leads rebate analytics strategies and provides operational oversight for MedImpact through forecast and trend management solutions. The position will be responsible for managing various strategic improvement initiatives within the department to continuously improve our client rebate reporting, rebate trends, rebate allocations and rebate payments. The position will interact with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value and support of these initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead and direct client analytical activities for assigned segment of rebate management; analyze large data sets to identify trends, opportunities and troubleshoot issues. Build unique SQL queries and interpret complex data quickly and accurately; manage creative data analysis and interpretation, adapting data to meet the needs of immediate requests. Manage training, workflow, and deliverables for assigned segment area analysts, including on‑the‑job training for analytical techniques, industry knowledge, and best practices. Serve as both a team lead and individual contributor as required. Lead quality improvement initiatives and/or strategic initiatives for the Trade Analytics department to ensure high performance, high quality, efficient and consistent methods are in place, understood, and adhered to by segment area. Develop and review statistical analysis and forecasting models according to client, business, and management needs, including recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action. Maintain a continuous improvement mindset, seeking new ways to meet internal and external requirements and improve departmental KPIs and metrics. Manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision. Develop and maintain custom client deliverables, delivery schedules, ad‑hoc reporting, and other high‑touch client needs. Represent the Trade Analytics group to senior management and cross‑functional teams by effectively communicating business decisions and rationale. Represent the Trade Analytics group to high‑touch clients through participation in client calls regarding rebates earned and addressing any questions or issues. Keep up to date with industry and regulatory changes. Perform any other duties assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Manage assigned staff in the segment area. Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Conduct hiring, training, performance appraisals, rewards and disciplinary actions, and address complaints and resolve problems. Support and enforce company policies and procedures fairly and consistently, taking corrective action when necessary. Client Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening, verbal, written). Manage difficult or emotional client situations; respond promptly to client needs. Solicit client feedback to improve service; respond to requests for service and assistance from clients. Meet commitments to clients. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: BS/BA degree or equivalent plus 5+ years of experience; 1 year of SME in respective area(s); and 3+ years of supervisory experience; 4 years of MedImpact experience plus an appropriate external leadership training program and internal mentorship with a seasoned leader (Dir+) that must be completed within 12 months. Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access); moderate SQL experience. Other Skills and Abilities: Proven leadership skills, excellent communication (verbal and written), analytical and financial reasoning skills; experience in operational application of database applications, accounting, finance, or data analysis; attention to detail; leading quality or process improvement initiatives; ability to represent MedImpact at the enterprise level with proper business decisions. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply algebra and geometry concepts, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Physical Demands Employees are regularly required to sit and talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment The work environment is typically moderate noise level (business office with computers and printers, light traffic). Work Location This position works on‑site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Must provide adequate support to internal clients and be available for regular interactions and coordination with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; and be available to facilitate effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders. Working Hours This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonably meet deadlines for work deliverables. Flexibility may be required to work beyond traditional hours, nights, weekends, or holidays. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Work hours may change as needed. Travel Domestic travel up to 15% of the time.
