Voice & Speech AI Expert (AI Community)

About the Role:

At TELUS Digital, we are teaching AI to listen and speak with human-like precision. As a Voice & Speech AI Specialist in our AI Community, you are at the forefront of Audio Machine Learning. We look to our community to help us refine speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) systems. You will analyze the rhythm, intonation, and phonetic nuances of your native language to ensure that AI voices sound natural, empathetic, and culturally appropriate. At TELUS, you are helping our community give AI a truly human voice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform deep-dive evaluations of AI-generated speech (TTS) for naturalness, accent precision, and emotional inflection in your native language.
\n
• Review and refine automated transcriptions (ASR) to ensure they capture the subtle rhythms and regional dialects of your native tongue.
\n
• Collaborate on the development of "Gold Standard" audio datasets, ensuring high phonetic diversity and articulation clarity.
\n
• Analyze the prosody and intonation of voice outputs to ensure they align perfectly with user intent.
\n

Mandatory Qualifications:

\n
• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree specifically in Phonetics, Speech-Language Pathology, Audio Engineering, or Musicology.
\n
• Language: Proficiency (C2+) in your primary language is mandatory to detect subtle pronunciation errors.
\n
• English Proficiency: Minimum B1 (Intermediate) level English for technical guidelines.
\n

Assessment:

In order to be hired into our community, you’ll go through a subject-specific qualification exam that will determine your suitability for the position and complete ID verification.

Payment:

Currently, pay rates for experts range from $18 - $35 USD per hour
