Patient Service Representative I

Responsibilities Ensure efficient and professional telephone communications. Collect payments and co-payments for all services at time of the patient’s exam. Demonstrate courtesy and helpfulness towards patients and their families. Schedule walk-in, STAT, and same‑day appointments. Cancel/re‑schedule no‑shows and incomplete exams, and confirm next‑day appointments. Escort and direct patients to dressing rooms and lockers for changing into exam gowns. Print all patient paperwork and assemble patient charts on behalf of Rad Technologists. Demonstrate cooperative, positive and professional patient care and customer service. Demonstrate commitment to organizational goals. Attend all mandatory in‑services and training. Verify and process patient benefits/responsibilities for upcoming appointments. Other duties as assigned. Education High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Experience Minimum six months experience as a medical receptionist. Experience with customer service, multi‑phone lines, and knowledge of proper phone etiquette. Requirements The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for the position. Knowledge Understanding of HIPAA and the ability to maintain confidentiality of information. Skills Excellent patient care skills. Basic typing and keyboarding skills, familiarity with computers and general office equipment. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Abilities Understand basic medical terminology.
