Excess and Surplus Lines Property Underwriter

A national leader in the E&S Property Program Business is seeking a top-notch Senior Property Underwriter with experience handling Habitational accounts and the ability to generate new business through the Retail Brokerage Channel. Ideally person will be based in Atlanta, GA (open to other close southeastern Locations) Requirements Minimum of 3 years of high-level E&S Property (Habitational)underwriting experience; Wholesale or Program experience preferred but open to those with strong carrier underwriting backgrounds as well. Bachelor's degree, strong preference for a degree with a field-related major/concentration Training and development of staff Excellent organizational and communication skills, and ability to multitask Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Willingness to travel to visit the Retail Agency base, primarily on the East Coast (Southeast). Responsibilities P&L accountability for premium, profitability, growth, and retention results within assigned territory. Overseeing the underwriting quality standards of employees. Includes ensuring appropriate file documentation is being maintained relating to the final underwriting decision. Partners with teams to develop a plan for managing and prospecting business writing. Manages execution of underwriting strategies and holds the team accountable for implementation. Develops and executes effective strategies to generate profitable business growth. Collaborates with the branch, peers, and E&S Property management on new business and retention opportunities. Ownership of broker/agency relationships, including delivering high-level expectations. Leads and/or participates in agency analysis and planning. Develops and executes an effective agency strategy to grow the business.
