Ally operates in various locations including Charlotte NC, Fort Washington PA, Lewisville TX, Jacksonville FL, or Chicago IL. The Director of Fraud Risk Strategy is a pivotal leader within the Financial Crimes team, focusing on the development and implementation of comprehensive fraud prevention strategies. This role will require close collaboration with Product, Payments, and Operations teams to create risk‑based, customer‑centric policies. You will have the chance to lead innovative initiatives in fraud prevention across deposit accounts and investment platforms, ensuring service security while delivering exceptional customer value. The Work You Will Do Develop and implement robust fraud prevention controls, including policy formulation and validation processes throughout the customer lifecycle for deposit accounts and investment services. Work closely with the Fraud Analytics, Strategies & Trends (FAST) team to identify control gaps and establish effective rule strategies for all business lines. Collaborate with FAST to design and create dashboards that monitor the status of deposit and investment platforms, providing alerts for changes in the fraud environment. Build and nurture relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and industry partners to stay abreast of emerging fraud trends and technologies. Analyze and monitor fraud trends, implementing proactive measures to mitigate risks while enhancing customer experiences across our services. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of fraud prevention strategies and drive continual improvement. Conduct market research and engage in industry forums to stay at the forefront of fraud prevention practices and regulatory changes. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop business cases for strategic fraud prevention initiatives. Create and deliver training materials for the Fraud Operations team to facilitate effective strategy implementation. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of regulatory landscape changes. Minimum Qualifications 9+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred Qualifications 7+ years of experience in fraud prevention within the financial services or investment sectors. Bachelor's degree preferred. 5+ years of experience leading fraud prevention strategies specifically in deposit accounts. Familiarity with investment platforms is beneficial. Proven success in managing a team of strategy or policy analysts with a track record of executing enterprise-level projects. In-depth knowledge of deposit payment processing and fraud controls, including ACH, Check, Zelle, and Wire. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to fraud prevention in financial services, including Reg CC and Reg E. Exceptional strategic thinking and problem‑solving capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective fraud prevention controls and strategies. Experience collaborating with analytics teams to build monitoring dashboards and alert systems. Strong project management skills, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple initiatives effectively.
