Healthcare Recruiter

The Recruiter plays a critical role in sourcing, recruiting, and hiring qualified healthcare professionals, such as nurses (LVNs, RNs), home health aides (HHAs), caregivers (care companions), and therapists, to work in a home care and home health care setting. The role ensures that the organization can meet the staffing needs of clients requiring in‑home care by recruiting highly skilled professionals who meet the organization’s quality standards and regulatory requirements. This full‑cycle recruiting role combines strategic sourcing, candidate relationship management, and day‑to‑day transactional execution in a high‑volume recruiting environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities while delivering a high‑quality candidate experience. About the Role Key Responsibilities: Recruitment and Sourcing Actively source and recruit qualified healthcare professionals (RNs, LPNs, HHAs, CNAs, CGs physical therapists, etc.) to meet client staffing needs. Use multiple recruitment channels such as online job boards, social media platforms, staffing agencies, school partnerships, and networking events to build a strong candidate pipeline. Maintain and build a strong network of potential candidates through industry‑specific connections, referrals, and partnerships with nursing schools or health care organizations. Screening and Interviewing Review resumes and applications, screening candidates to assess qualifications, licenses, certifications, and relevant experience. Conduct initial phone and interviews to assess candidates' skills, professionalism, and suitability for home health positions. Evaluate candidates' knowledge of patient care in home settings, ensuring they have the required clinical and/or non‑clinical skills and understanding of the home care environment. Collaboration with Hiring Managers and Leadership Partner with hiring managers, home health agency leadership, and clinical teams to understand staffing needs and job requirements. Advise managers on trends and challenges in the recruitment process, helping them to refine job descriptions and hiring strategies. Ensure that all recruited candidates meet the agency's quality standards and comply with healthcare industry regulations. Compliance and Documentation Ensure all recruits meet state and federal licensing requirements and any specific certifications needed to work in home health care (e.g., CPR, first aid, etc.). Maintain accurate records of all recruitment activities, including candidate evaluations, interviews, and offers made. Facilitate onboarding, including the background screening process, including criminal history and references, completion of necessary paperwork, license verification in compliance with healthcare laws and regulations. Candidate Onboarding Oversee and coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they complete necessary documentation and orientation. Facilitate the introduction of new hires to the organization’s policies, procedures, and patient care standards. Provide new hires with the resources and training they need to succeed in a non‑medical home care and/or home health care setting. Market and Industry Knowledge Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to home health care recruitment. Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape in home health recruiting to ensure the organization remains an attractive employer to top talent. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in human resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred, but not required. At least 1-3 years of experience in healthcare recruitment, with a strong preference for experience in home health care staffing. Familiarity with healthcare staffing regulations and compliance requirements is beneficial. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
