Facilities Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Facilities Coordinator is responsible for coordination, maintenance, and security of the Museum building, systems and grounds. An ability to prioritize, schedule, and implement projects within a changing work environment while adhering to the time sensitive nature of museum production work is critical. This position must be able to communicate clearly, be detail oriented, and self-motivated. An ability to anticipate the next move, to handle stress and to stay focused is essential. Requires 5 to 7 years of experience in maintenance management, carpentry, construction and preparation including mechanical and electrical installations. This experience should have been acquired in a commercial or institutional facility. Strong emphasis placed on individuals with experience in cultural institutions or museums. Valid NE driver's license (or ability to acquire this). Equivalent combination of education and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.Knowledge of OSHA regulations, well-versed in workplace safety, fine arts terminology and the interrelationships of the areas of art, experience with the principles and techniques of art museum lighting. OSHA aerial and scissor lift certification. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant coursework/specialized training Advanced training and specialization in HVAC systems and climate control systems is preferred.
