Field Service Diesel Technician

Job TitleDiesel TechnicianJob DescriptionCompletes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction. Will make an impact in the following ways:Complete repairs on engine products in a service shopPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic toolsMaintain detailed records of serviced vehiclesAdhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policiesOngoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own toolsExternal Qualifications and CompetenciesIn order to be successful in this role you will need the following:Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnosticsRequires direct supervision and review of workmanship qualityDemonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic softwareAdditional Responsibilities Unique to this PositionTravel throughout Oahu to support customer locations including construction, healthcare, telecommunications, government, hospitality, industrial, and commercial facilities.Occasionally travel to neighbor islands (Maui, Kauai, Hawaii Island, and Lanai) to assist with maintenance and repair activities as business demands require.Support emergency power restoration efforts during storms, natural disasters, and utility outages.Work in tropical outdoor environments, including high heat, humidity, rain, and coastal conditions.Maintain compliance with Hawaii-specific environmental, transportation, and safety regulations.Represent the Kapolei branch professionally while building strong customer relationships within the local community.DOT- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older. A current valid license is required for this role- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical- 3 years driving experience- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device useEducation, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred). Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution. Locally valid driving permit. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.Experience: Minimal level of workshop related experience required. Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products. Locally valid driving permit.Compensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience.
