Senior Accountant

We're partnering with a growing organization seeking a technically strong Senior Accountant who will play a key role in both core accounting operations and building scalable processes across the finance function. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, driving process improvements, and partnering with leadership to strengthen and evolve accounting operations from the ground up. What You'll Own Execute and review month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement support Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages Research technical accounting issues and support implementation of new standards and policies Partner cross-functionally to improve processes, reporting accuracy, and overall efficiency Identify and drive automation, standardization, and internal control enhancements Support external audits and serve as a key liaison for auditors Contribute to financial analysis, variance reporting, and ad hoc projects Help build and document accounting policies, procedures, and controls to support a scalable, growing organization Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 2-5+ years of relevant accounting experience Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting fundamentals Experience supporting financial statement preparation and audit processes Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities Preferred Qualifications CPA or CPA-track Background in Big 4 or public accounting strongly preferred Experience driving process improvements or automation initiatives Experience helping build or enhance accounting processes in a growing environment Why Consider This Role High visibility with exposure to senior leadership Opportunity to build and improve processes from the ground up Mix of technical accounting and business-facing responsibilities Collaborative, growth-oriented environment Clear path for career progression Competitive compensation, bonus potential, and flexibility Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
