Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care in adult ICU and general inpatient units, including ventilator management, airway support, and weaning as clinically indicated
- Assess patients, interpret ABG results, and adjust therapies per physician orders; administer inhaled medications and aerosol therapies
- Perform airway clearance techniques, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and NIV management as appropriate
- Monitor and document patient status in the electronic medical record (Epic) and communicate with the multidisciplinary team during rounds and handoffs
- Respond to respiratory emergencies within the designated units and assist with patient transport and coordination of care as needed
- Maintain and sterilize equipment, ensure proper infection control practices, and verify readiness of all respiratory therapy devices

Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential; CRT not accepted
- NBRC verification required
- Licensure on file at time of submission
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient (acutely ill) clinical experience
- Prior travel experience preferred; teaching-hospital experience required
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
- ED coverage is preferred but not required; inpatient ICU and general unit experience a must
- Must be able to work in a teaching hospital environment; documentation of all prior employment details requested
- Must have reliable transportation (public transit not accessible in the area); personal vehicle or rental strongly recommended; vehicles should have all-season or snow tires during November-April
- Must be available to start within the upcoming week per requisition notes
