Senior HR Generalist- Tamarac, FL- Onsite

Department: Human Resources
Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried/Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with additional hours as needed
Reports To: Senior HR Manager
Travel: As needed

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced  Senior HR Generalist to serve as a key HR partner to employees and managers across the organization. This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who enjoys working across multiple areas of Human Resources, including  employee relations, investigations, performance management, onboarding, talent acquisition, compliance, benefits support, training, and employee engagement .

The ideal candidate is a resourceful problem solver who can independently manage day-to-day HR matters while partnering with HR leadership on more complex employee issues. This individual must be comfortable interpreting policies, coaching managers, maintaining confidentiality, and balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and general HR questions.
• Provide  employee relations support and guide managers through workplace and performance-related issues.
• Conduct and document  workplace investigations and communicate findings to the Senior HR Manager.
• Partner with managers to determine and document appropriate disciplinary actions.
• Work with the Senior HR Manager on employee changes that may lead to termination while ensuring compliance with company policies and HR best practices.
• Interpret employee handbook provisions, company policies, and HR procedures.
• Partner with Compliance to ensure adherence to applicable  state and federal employment laws .
• Support the onboarding process, including HR orientation and  New Manager Training .
• Oversee completion of new-hire orientation, ethics certifications, and performance appraisals.
• Review performance evaluations, coach managers, and help ensure evaluations are completed on schedule.
• Conduct exit interviews, identify trends, and provide findings and recommendations to HR leadership.
• Prepare and process employee data related to promotions, increases, and other employment changes.
• Maintain confidential electronic personnel, medical, and other HR records.
• Partner with the Talent Acquisition team on  job postings and ATS maintenance .
• Conduct initial interviews for candidates within supported departments.
• Develop and maintain job descriptions.
• Support employees with  FMLA, disability, benefits, and other leave-related questions in partnership with the Benefits team.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, company events, open enrollment, and other employee activities.
• Partner with Safety regarding working conditions and required compliance training.
• Lead or participate in special HR projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of Human Resources experience
• Bachelor's degree in  Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline , or directly related HR Generalist experience
• Strong working knowledge of HR processes and practices
• Experience handling  employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance management
• Experience with onboarding and employee orientation
• Understanding of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance
• Experience working with  HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems
• Proficiency with  Microsoft Office , including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
• High degree of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential employee information
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs
• Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• PHR or SHRM-SCP certification
• Experience with  ADP HRIS/Payroll
• Experience supporting managers through complex employee relations situations
• Experience partnering across Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Compliance, and Safety functions.

Who Will Succeed in This Role

The strongest candidate will be a  well-rounded, hands-on HR Generalist who is comfortable being the first point of contact for employees and managers while knowing when to escalate more complex matters to senior HR leadership.
