Patient Service Representative

Position Summary Provides clerical support and assistance to ensure that the business of the department is completed in the most effective, efficient, timely, accurate and customer friendly manner. Primary Position Responsibilities Greets and checks in patients for scheduled appointments. Encounters patients in NextGen and bills accurately in Affinity. Prepares documents for upcoming intakes. Regularly reviews and updates insurance & demographic information required for billing. Scans paperwork into appropriate folders in Next Gen and Affinity. Provides telephone coverage on a daily basis. Provides clerical support to clinical staff. Work Contact Group (Internal/External) HBH staff, HMC departments, community residents, community agencies, and State employees. Reporting Relationships Reports to (position): Office Supervisor Supervises (position(s): None Qualifications Minimum Education: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred: None Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: Minimum of two years experience in an office environment. Preferred: None License, Registry or Certification: Required: None Preferred: None Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Electronic Billing and Data collection systems. Preferred: Familiar with Affinity and working knowledge of Next Gen EMR.
