Description
Published Description: Aequor is currently hiring a full-time COTA on our school-based team in Surprise, AZ, for the upcoming 26/27 school year! Pay: $39 - $42 per hour Hours: Mon-Friday, 7 hours/day for the duration of the school year Position Summary The School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA supports students in developing functional skills that enhance participation in academic activities, daily school routines, and the educational environment in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Essential Responsibilities Therapy Implementation Implement occupational therapy intervention plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Provide individual and small-group services aligned with IEP goals. Support development of fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, visual-motor, and functional school participation skills. Assist students in using adaptive strategies and tools to improve independence. Collaboration Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and administrators. Participate in team meetings and professional development as directed. Support generalization of skills across educational settings.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- National certification as a COTA, if required by the state.
- Ability to implement therapy plans under supervision.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
