Medical Assistant (Urology Practice)Location: Washington Heights, NYHours/Days: 5 8.5 Hour Shifts; Monday - Friday (7:30a-6:30p)Organization: New York Health (NYH) - UrologyIn this role, you will:Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.Record patients' vital signs.Prepare patients for examinations.Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.Other duties as assigned.We require:A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School DiplomaBilingual in English and SpanishProficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reachingKnowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluidsMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needsMust be able to float to our Brooklyn and Staten Island urology locationsWhat we offer:Salary: Starting at $25 per hourBenefits: Including health insurance from day one, dental and vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401k, generous PTO, 8 paid holidays (including 2 floating holidays), and more.Join us at NYH, where we are making strides in healthcare through innovative and compassionate care.
