Job Summary and Qualifications The nurse is an integral part of the Imaging/Radiology Team.The major goal of the Radiology nurse is to provide exceptional quality nursing care to outpatients in the Radiology Department.The RN provides nursing carein accordance withestablished policies, procedures and protocols already developed for the healthcare organization.The tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Assesses plans and evaluates the nursing care needs of the patient before, during and after the invasive procedures, breast biopsies. Provides nursing care to the patient undergoing the invasive procedures, breast biopsies. Assists Radiologists during examinations and procedures. Monitors, records andcommunicatespatient condition asappropriate utilizingcomputerized documentation systems. Instructs and educates patients and families. Provides age appropriate and culturallyappropriate care. Orients and mentorsnew staffmembers. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment asrequired. What qualifications you will need: Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse License Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification on hire ACLS on hire or within90 daysof transfer or new hire Specialty Certificationhighlypreferred within 3 years of hire. Education:Graduateofa NLNaccredited school of nursing. Experience:2 or more years’ experience in Critical Care Nursing required.Performsin accordance withdelineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities.Mustpossessthe knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient,internaland external customer.
