Human Resources Information System Analyst

A growing mission-driven organization is seeking a Senior Total Rewards HRIS Specialist to serve as the subject matter expert for HR systems, employee benefits, and total rewards programs. This highly visible role will oversee HRIS administration, system optimization, benefits administration, compliance, reporting, analytics, and vendor management while driving continuous improvements across HR technology and employee experience initiatives. The ideal candidate combines deep HRIS expertise with strong benefits administration knowledge and a passion for improving processes through automation, system enhancements, and data-driven decision making. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the organization's HRIS platform Manage system configurations, security roles, user access, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance Audit existing HRIS processes and identify opportunities for optimization and automation Design, build, and implement automated workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes Develop and maintain system documentation, process maps, user guides, and configuration records Partner with leadership to develop and execute a long-term HR technology roadmap Evaluate new system functionality, features, integrations, and enhancements to improve organizational effectiveness Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, and other employee benefit offerings Manage employee enrollments, life event changes, terminations, and benefit eligibility administration Lead annual Open Enrollment including system setup, employee communications, carrier coordination, and reporting Serve as the primary liaison with insurance carriers, retirement plan providers, brokers, and third-party administrators Reconcile benefit invoices and resolve billing discrepancies in partnership with Finance Ensure compliance with ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, Section 125, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations Manage and maintain EDI integrations between HRIS platforms and benefit providers Configure, test, troubleshoot, and monitor data feeds to ensure accurate benefit enrollment transmissions Investigate and resolve eligibility, enrollment, and data transmission issues in a timely manner Establish data governance standards and conduct routine audits to ensure HRIS accuracy and integrity Develop reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics to support HR and executive leadership decision-making Prepare compliance reporting and support regulatory submissions including ACA and EEO reporting requirements Partner closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and operational leaders to identify business needs and system solutions Provide end-user support, training, and education on HR systems and processes Manage vendor relationships and serve as the escalation point for system-related issues Stay current on HR technology trends, system enhancements, and industry best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered Minimum 5 years of progressive HRIS experience including system administration, configuration, workflow development, and process improvement Experience managing benefits administration and employee total rewards programs Demonstrated experience supporting EDI integrations between HRIS systems and benefit providers Strong experience conducting HRIS audits, troubleshooting system issues, and implementing enhancements Advanced analytical, reporting, and data management skills Strong understanding of HR compliance regulations and employee benefit administration Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and HR technology platforms Excellent problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects in a fast-paced environment Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and leadership levels Preferred Qualifications Experience with UKG Pro, UKG Ready, or similar enterprise HRIS platforms UKG certifications or demonstrated advanced system expertise Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR Experience supporting HRIS implementations, enhancements, or large-scale optimization initiatives Experience working within nonprofit, healthcare, human services, or highly regulated environments Knowledge of HR data governance, workforce analytics, and strategic HR technology planning What Success Looks Like Accurate administration of employee benefits programs with minimal errors Successful execution of annual Open Enrollment activities Reliable and efficient HRIS workflows and automated processes High levels of data integrity across HR, benefits, payroll, and timekeeping systems Timely and accurate compliance reporting and regulatory filings Effective management of HR technology vendors and system enhancements Strong partnerships with HR, Finance, Payroll, and organizational leadership Meaningful process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce manual work Hybrid work arrangement available based on organizational needs and performance Standard business hours Monday through Friday with occasional after-hours support as needed Collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence Opportunity to play a critical role in shaping HR technology strategy and employee experience initiatives EEO and Fair Chance Statements The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
