About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty. License: RN license required (state-specific or compact) Certifications: BLS & ACLS required Must-Have: Telemetry oncology, cardiac experience, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience, vent and transplant experience required. Description: Traveler will work in an Intermediate Care unit. Day and evening 12-hour shifts are required. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Patients include those with multiple comorbidities and various medical diagnoses. Nursing staff will provide care to the acutely ill surgical and trauma patients. Critical thinking and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment. The unit is a 29-bed step-down unit. Nurses are integral to the multidisciplinary team and advocate for quality patient care. Patient care includes telemetry, managing ventilated patients, and adminstering blood products. Candidates must have experience in cardiac telemetry and proficiently interpret dysrhythmias. Telemetry testing will be required prior to starting the position. The position will also require floating as needed to support patient care. Travelers must provide documentation for competencies in required skills. A telemetry exam will be administered with strict passing criteria. Candidates will have two attempts to pass the exam. Failure to pass the exam will disqualify candidates from the assignment. This position requires maintaining a high level of adaptability and communication skills.
