Production Planner

Position Overview The Production Planner is responsible for the materials PO’s and delivery tracking as well as planning production based on internal and external customer demand, meeting customer expectations, while maintaining and balancing pre-established safety stock levels and efficiency in the manufacturing plant. The Production Planner is also responsible for the creation of stock transfer orders (STO’s) of products shipped but not produced in the manufacturing facility. Essential Functions MRP - Learn Refresco MRP, understand the tool and company best practices. Line Scheduling - Assist in basic line scheduling and principles, review tools such as customer flavor changeover matrixes and production sequencing. Material Ordering - Assess BOMs, material master data, and PRRs. Understand how to create a variant to change the view in each tcode, learn the materials needed for products, appropriate suppliers and how to place PO/Pull materials. Leadtime - Provide material order cycle times to understand how it affects production scheduling. Production Attainment - Understand the line run rates and capabilities. Attend meetings with operations and supply‑chain team. Optimal DOS - Be knowledgeable in the days of supply and goal targets. Safety Stock - Adhere to safety stocks in the system and understand the strategy behind settings. BOM / Master Data - Review and maintain BOM and master data for accuracy. Item Changes / New Product Launches - Learn ACE and locate training documentation; understand the commercial team organizational chart. Operations Collaboration - Gain knowledge of operations counterparts in plant. STO's and LT - Perform the process of how to do transfers and when they should be placed. Production Planning Escalation Support - Develop new support relationships as change is inevitable. Reporting - Initiate, provide, compile, and analyze basic data for reporting purposes. Process Creation - Understand current processes and locate best‑practice files. Key Performance Indicators Fill rate, production attainment, aged inventory, days of supply (DOS), safety stock, finished‑goods transfers. Required Skills and Competencies Organizational Understanding - Know the organizational roles chart, cross‑functional counterparts, and support roles in production planning. Supplier Communication - Knowledge of the supplier matrix for all materials. Customer Communication - Understand which customers and products are on which lines and their associated account managers. Aged Inventory - Understand aged inventory reporting and basic methods to avoid it. Demand Planning Collaboration - Collaborate with demand planners and identify accounts they serve; build relationships with demand planners on key accounts. Problem Solving Skills - Use system tools such as GIB, SAP, MRP, BW, PBI, shared Excel reporting. Excel Analysis / BW - Demonstrate basic Excel calculations and download data from SAP or PBI. Power BI - Navigate Power BI reporting and understand basic reports. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred. Prior experience in food / beverage manufacturing, sourcing, or supply chain highly desirable. 3+ years of SAP experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. APICS Certified is a plus. Working Conditions Physical Demands – Continuously sitting for prolonged periods; administrative nature of job. Visual / Sensory – Requires attention to detail, focus on one or two senses at a time. Work Environment – Fast-paced, requires ability to remain focused under pressure. Mental Stress – Pronounced pressure from deadlines, project management, accuracy demands. Travel Requirements Based in Tampa corporate office with minimal travel requirements.
