THE POSITIONThe Administrative Assistant 1 role with the Department of Corrections offers a chance to be part of a team that keeps vital operations moving smoothly. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position helps the Bureau of Healthcare Services stay organized, responsive, and effective in its daily operations. As a Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Confidential Information: Manage sensitive information, log grievances, and track trends to support better practices
- Records Processing: Activate medical records, update tracking logs, prepare mailings, and resolve errors with accuracy
- Call Management: Handle incoming calls, address questions, document issues, and prepare monthly call reports
- Training Support: Coordinate emergency medicine training communications and maintain tracking systems for program records
- Death Reporting: Assist with collecting and organizing documents for required reporting and data entry
- Meeting Coordination: Prepare materials, schedule events, arrange videoconferences, and take accurate meeting minutes

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
