Manufacturing Technician (Cleanroom) Location: Austin, TX Salary: $20.00–$27.50 per hour About Applied Materials Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce virtually every new chip and advanced display in the world. Role Summary As a Manufacturing Technician, you will work hands‑on in a cleanroom environment to build, repair, and test multimillion‑dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment. Key Responsibilities Use work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering specifications, parts and wire lists, and verbal instructions to build, repair, or test electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies, sub‑assemblies, and components. Perform a wide variety of electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshoot issues, and carry out repairs. Identify and correct errors while observing all safety standards and maintaining a secure, healthy work environment. Attend required health and safety training and adhere to safety and security policies, procedures, and practices. Promptly report accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies to a supervisor or the Safety department. Utilize test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps to test assemblies, sub‑assemblies, and components. Enter data on a computer terminal—including progress, work expense, and labor details—and perform repairs or software checks as needed. Verify work for conformance to specifications, conduct parts audits to ensure all necessary parts are available, and inspect parts for defects. Identify opportunities to improve processes and document finished work accurately. Required Knowledge & Skills Proficiency in analytical processes or procedures for assigned tasks. Understanding of how the team integrates with others to meet objectives. Capacity to provide informal guidance and support to junior team members. Problem‑solving skills for atypical or infrequent situations based on existing precedents. Ability to impact the quality of own work and contribute to team performance. Strong communication skills for regular information exchange. Employee Details Full‑time; Assignee / Regular; No travel; No relocation eligibility. Salary will be based on location, grade, skills, experience, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include bonuses and stock award programs where applicable.
