HR ManagerOur client is a rapidly growing waste management / recycling organization who are looking to add a HR Manager to their team. They have enjoyed incredible growth in the last few years and are seeking a HR candidate with a background ideally within a similar sector to join their team as they continue their expansion. We are looking for a candidate who has worked in the transportation sector for this role. Candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of Human Resources, including, but not limited to: recruitment/talent acquisition, training and development, employee relations, benefits, talent management, risk management, workers compensation and payroll administration (Paylocity).Duties/Responsibilities:Demonstrate the ability to successfully build relationships at all levels of the organizationImprove and maintain employee relations by building trust with the team and providing realistic recommendations to management teamMaintain HR records to ensure compliance with all state and/or federal lawsManage the unemployment claims and represent the Company during unemployment hearingsCommunicate to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding employment-related policies, procedures, rules, laws, and regulations and ensures complianceStrong recruitment/talent acquisition skills; including job description development, resume sourcing, developing ads, interviewing, and placement of exempt and non-exempt employees at all levels of the organizationPlan and conduct new employee orientation and develop a structured onboarding processProvide guidance and support to management team regarding performance management, including employee reviews and compensation reviewsProvide guidance and support to management team during employee disciplinary actions, documentation, meetings, and terminationsDevelop and conduct training as necessaryBe the employee point of contact for all benefits related questions and perform benefits administration during new employee orientation and open enrollment periodsParticipate in annual health insurance renewal processUtilize Worker's Compensation knowledge to partner with Safety Manager as needed on investigations and claims managementHandle the management of all Driver qualification files in accordance with Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier requirementsOversee the weekly payroll processing and serve as qualified backup to the process when necessaryMaintain and continue to improve on Paylocity payroll implementationMaintain the company's organizational charts and provide weekly HR reporting to management teamQualifications:Minimum of three years of experience in an HR generalist positionBachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related fieldFamiliarity with employment laws and regulations, including Title VII, ADEA, ADAAA, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, and COBRAExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to exercise discretion and good ethical judgment in interpreting and applying company policies to issues and problemsAbility to handle confidential information in a professional mannerProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OutlookFamiliarity with applicant tracking systemsFamiliarity with Payroll and Timekeeping Systems (Paylocity)Previous DOT experience is a plusExperience working in an industrial work environmentCertification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)Familiarity with employment laws and regulations in Texas, Indiana, Florida and Tennessee would be a plusAbility to work in a high pressure environment with changing prioritiesComplete assigned duties and meet required deadlines
