Job Summary

We are seeking a Patient Access Specialist to be the welcoming face and operational backbone of our front office. You will manage patient check-ins, medical records via Athena EHR, and coordinate closely with our clinical team to ensure a seamless experience for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Engagement: Greet and check-in patients; answer inquiries with professional and polite communication.

Front Desk Management: Maintain a clean, welcoming waiting area; manage follow-up appointments and schedule changes.

Medical Records (Athena EHR): Verify demographics; scan and file information; assist patients with the Patient Portal.

Clinical Coordination: Monitor incoming emails and forward prescription requests (fax/phone/email) to the clinical team.

Financial & Billing: Perform insurance eligibility checks; collect co-pays and past-due balances; complete processing slips for clinical appointments.

Team Support: Maintain clear communication with Practice Management, Billing/AR, and Clinicians.

Minimum Qualifications

EHR Experience: Proficient in navigating Electronic Health Records (Athena preferred).

Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills; professional telephone and email etiquette.

Organization: Strong time management, problem-solving, and information analysis skills.

Professionalism: Commitment to a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
