- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using established assessments and observation methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans addressing both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions that focus on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing difficulties.
- Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families to support their progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Occasionally engage in inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation following all pertinent state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Stay abreast of advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for all age groups, with a thorough understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Adeptness at modifying therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment coupled with analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and documentation practices.
