How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Human Resources Generalist for the Genfare business, you will serve as a point of contact for local leaders and employees, serving as a valued resource in supporting HR processes and initiatives to meet business objectives and support employee engagement & performance. This is a hands‑on position that supports ~150 employees with a focus on employee relations, performance management, recruiting, and continuous improvement. Job Responsibilities Employee Relations Address day‑to‑day HR issues such as performance management, benefits questions, attendance, payroll, and other workplace concerns; escalating complex issues as appropriate. Provide guidance and coaching with a focus on performance management, employee engagement, career development, recruiting and retention. Ensure compliance with HR policies, including employee disciplinary actions and completing workplace investigations, as appropriate. Employee Life Cycle Support the full scope of the employee life cycle, including implementing staffing plans, partnering with external temp agencies and the corporate recruiting team to fill roles, fostering an engaging work environment, and onboarding/off‑boarding. Apply compensation programs to inform candidate offers and annual compensation reviews for new and existing employees. Manage and support temporary agency staffing performance and relationships. Facilitate or coordinate training on performance management, leadership development, pay planning, new employee orientation, compliance, etc. Coordinate, support and monitor employee performance reviews at mid‑year and end‑of‑year cycles for target completion. System & Compliance Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge about the changing landscape of the labor market, best practices, and employment laws through benchmarking, networking and research/publications. Support the HR systems such as Ceridian Dayforce, SuccessFactors, and other systems by coordinating the collection of information, inputting information, and running/auditing reports. Manage attendance tracking system and administer the attendance policy. Serve as site benefit contact including disability and FMLA inquiries. Support compliance with regulatory requirements including EEO, FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and corporate compliance guidelines. Support ongoing and periodic HR processes such as payroll, pay planning, state & project affirmative action reporting, system data audits, etc. Continuous Improvement Act as an advocate for continuous improvement and safety culture. Provide HR and business metrics for monthly/quarterly reporting. Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the HR department and organization. What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) Required Experience Minimum of 3 years HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience administering local recruiting, training, and compensation programs. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Problem solver with a desire to make an impact. Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Experience supporting recruiting, employee relations, training, performance management, employee relations, and addressing conflicts. Knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, EEO, ADA). Proactive, out‑of‑the‑box thinker, keen to drive process improvement and excitement over change management. Experience working with payroll, and time and attendance systems. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to communicate with and influence others. Ability to maintain composure and discretion in challenging situations. Proven track record of meeting commitments with the high standards of confidentiality, ethics and integrity. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field. Master's degree in human resources, business, organizational development or related area preferred. PHR / SPHR / GPHR / SHRM‑CP / SHRM‑SCP certification preferred. Travel & Working Environment Office environment with occasional work in a plant/manufacturing environment. Minimal travel ( Manufacturing environment requires use of foot, eye and ear protection when in production areas. SPX Pay Transparency Statement We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $88,000-$110,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
