Lead Business Analyst - Salesforce

Job Summary:

The Lead Business Analyst (Business Analyst 4) will serve as the senior functional and analytical expert supporting the Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (DMVA) and Michigan Veteran Homes (MVH). This role leads comprehensive business analysis activities focused on large-scale, complex information systems, primarily the DMVA Salesforce application suite. The position requires collaboration across business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure alignment with business objectives, technical architecture, and security standards. The role supports hybrid work with mandatory onsite presence two days a week in Lansing, Michigan. Responsibilities:

• Lead business analysis for Salesforce-based systems including Admin, Apex, Lightning Web Components, Aura Components, Flows, Communities, and Conga Composer.
• Gather, document, and validate requirements, translating business needs into detailed Salesforce specifications such as user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Review and advise on design solutions, custom components, integration patterns, and security models related to Salesforce development.
• Manage sprint backlogs, releases, and defect remediation using Azure DevOps.
• Support Salesforce integrations involving REST APIs, SQL Server, Oracle, Azure services, microservices, and legacy systems.
• Lead requirements elicitation, prioritization, and business process reengineering to optimize workflows and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architects on technical designs and participate in architecture and security reviews.
• Prepare cost-benefit analyses, ROI assessments, and total cost of ownership evaluations.
• Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, and reviews.
• Serve as liaison between business, technical teams, leadership, and vendors to ensure clear communication and stakeholder management.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, coordinate security scans, and support quality assurance activities.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• 10+ years of business analysis experience.
• Extensive Salesforce expertise including Admin, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura, Flows, Communities, and Conga Composer.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Java, .NET, JavaScript, and REST APIs.
• Proven ability to develop Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and procurement documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Veteran preference qualified military veterans encouraged to apply.
• Scrum Master certification.
• Experience with microservices, integrations, and distributed architecture.
• Experience mentoring other analysts.

Special Considerations:

• Candidate must reside within 90 miles of Lansing, Michigan at time of submission.
• Hybrid work schedule requiring onsite presence Monday and Tuesday each week with no exceptions.

Scheduling:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Hybrid schedule with onsite work required Mondays and Tuesdays in Lansing, Michigan.
