Senior Business Analyst

Overview:

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst. Candidates must be located within 90 miles of Lansing, MI. Interviews will be held in person in Lansing, MI. There is no option for a video interview. The work schedule is hybrid with two days onsite in Lansing, MI and three days remote. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule.

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to partner closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, project leadership, and delivery teams. This role will support discovery, business process analysis, user acceptance testing (UAT), training readiness, and Azure DevOps (ADO) backlog management.

The Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between business operations and technical delivery teams, helping ensure solutions align with business requirements, support operational needs, and are successfully adopted by end users.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Process Modeling

• Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, and business operating procedures.
• Document current-state and future-state business processes.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assess operational impacts.
• Identify and document manual processes, workarounds, and exception-handling procedures.
• Develop end-to-end business process and system interaction diagrams.
• Document complex business integrations and data flows.

Product Owner Support

• Partner with Product Owners to refine, prioritize, and maintain product backlogs.
• Assist with developing user stories and defining clear acceptance criteria.
• Gather, analyze, document, and clarify business requirements.
• Provide recommendations related to requirements traceability and business validation.
• Support Agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement and related ceremonies.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Coordinate UAT activities with business stakeholders.
• Develop UAT strategies, test scenarios, and business validation plans.
• Track test execution, results, defects, and acceptance decisions.
• Support end-to-end business process testing and release readiness assessments.
• Document UAT evidence and provide acceptance recommendations.

Training & Organizational Readiness

• Support the development and execution of training plans.
• Create end-user training materials, job aids, quick reference guides, and process documentation.
• Support stakeholder readiness, communications, and adoption activities.
• Facilitate training sessions, knowledge transfer, and operational readiness activities.

Azure DevOps (ADO) Support

• Maintain and organize Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks, and other work items within Azure DevOps.
• Support traceability between business requirements, testing, and implementation.
• Assist with ADO dashboards, queries, reports, Kanban boards, Sprint boards, and supporting documentation.

Documentation & Governance

• Create and maintain project documentation, requirements artifacts, process documentation, training materials, and reference guides.
• Document business rules, validation rules, integrations, data flows, and exception-processing requirements.
• Support compliance with organizational delivery methodologies, standards, and governance requirements.
• Maintain documentation repositories, project wikis, and knowledge bases.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience gathering and documenting requirements from business users and stakeholders.
• 6+ years of experience developing technical and business requirements documentation.
• 4+ years of experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies, processes, and ceremonies.
• 3+ years of experience maintaining and organizing Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks using Azure DevOps backlog management tools, including Kanban and Sprint boards.
• CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Azure DevOps for backlog, work item, and requirements management.
• Experience supporting Product Owners in Agile delivery environments.
• Experience developing UAT plans, test scenarios, and business validation strategies.
• Experience creating training plans, training materials, and operational readiness documentation.
• Experience facilitating business process analysis and workflow modeling using tools such as Bizagi.
• Strong stakeholder facilitation, communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Experience supporting large-scale government, healthcare, financial services, or enterprise system implementations.
• Experience documenting complex business program integrations, system interactions, and data flows.
